Jamie Patrick - Ultra Swimmer

Jamie's passion is water. Throughout his life, water has given him many things, but most of all happiness. He began swimming at the age of seven and has not stopped since. Swimming has brought Jamie around the world to places most people have only dreamed of. From Tahiti to Hawaii, South America to Europe and so many other places in between - SWIMMING is his passion in life.

Jamie's wife, Terry, supports him in everything that he does. She does not always understand his desire to push himself to such extremes, but her support has never wavered. Married since 2002, they have an eight year old daughter named Hadley Grace who is the light of both of their lives. (she too is already showing a love for the water!).  Jamie  loves sharing his incredible journeys with the two of them.

Jamie's work life is at Patrick & Co., which was established in 1873 by his great-grandfather.  It is the oldest office supply company in San Francisco and one of the oldest in the country. Jamie is the Vice President and Sales Manager, and works closely with his father, Jim Patrick, the President of Patrick & Co. to continually grow their business. In today's technology driven world, this means constantly staying at the forefront of new technology in order to enhance business practices and contribute to their client's successes.  They have positioned Patrick & Co. to compete with the "big box" stores such as Staples and Office Depot. In addition to their office supply business, they also own and manage five commercial properties in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Pure and simple, Jamie is an Endurance Athlete and Adventure Swimmer.  He has completed 15 Ironman triathlons, two Ultraman World Championships, a triple Ironman and hundreds of other events.  He has completed both single and double crossing wetsuit swims across Lake Tahoe.  In the summer of 2011, Jamie swam 111 miles down the Sacramento River.  This amazing adventure was 31 hours of non-stop swimming.  Most recently, along with three other marathon swimmers, he completed a swim from Spain to Africa across the Strait of Gibraltar in April 2012.

Jamie is about the ADVENTURE in everything.  From riding his bike through the night "just because," to swimming upstream in the creek behind his house during a rain storm,  to walking 17 miles home from work, to doing two marathons back-to-back.  He has done multiple 12 hour pool swims and swam in 12 different pools in 12 days just for the fun of it.  He has taken a train with his bike 200 miles down the California coast and turned around and rode back.  He has run 78 miles on a one mile loop.  He has swam with whales, sharks and dolphins in the wild.  Growing up, he spent time with his family sailing all over the world.  His first Ironman he completed without training - just to see if he  could.

Along with SWIMMING, one of Jamie's other passions in life is following those who desire to push their own personal limits.  To Jamie this means so many things.  It is about SUPPORTING.  It is about UNDERSTANDING.  It is about RESPECT. It is about PASSION.  It is about DREAMING BIG!!!  Ultimately it is about LIVING LIFE BEYOND WHAT YOU THINK IS POSSIBLE.  Whether it is an Ironman, a marathon, running a 5K or jumping in the water for the first time - Jamie's desire is to ENCOURAGE, MOTIVATE and SUPPORT those who take their own personal risks and want to do things DIFFERENTLY.   Jamie's motto is - Live Life Beyond What You Think Is Possible.
