"SmackDab is going to change the way entertainment and media is looked at and viewed"
THE BROADCAST
With LIVE Broadcasting in over 100 countries, our interactive social media platform invites the world to hop aboard " The Great Lake Swim." Television networks, radio stations, and online media will track Jamie's progress as this incredible story unfolds.
Jamie is one of few to dare to take on a challenge of this magnitude. The challenges that exist to succeed in this endeavor include a long list of hurdles; physical exhaustion; endless time alone in one’s head; the inescapable cold water; self-doubt and mental exhaustion, both from trying to keep one’s head in the game. We at Ridgeline and SmackDab will capture this story as it unfolds.
From the time our swimmer steps off the beach in Milwaukee, he will not know another easy moment until he arrives safely in Chicago. As he swims, he will have to reach into his own deep motivations. Knowing the world is tracking him will propel him forward, but will also add pressure that will not be an easy burden to bear. In any case, for Jamie Patrick there will be only one path home.
The Great Lake Swim will truly be the most transparent event ever. It will feature an Interactive Live Broadcast platform allowing a multitude of cameras. Once viewers come to our online broadcast site(s) they will discover what fully interactive really means. Our use of a satellite 24/7 during our expedition will allow us to have full bandwidth Internet on our support flotila, permitting two-way real-time communication. Viewers all over the world will be able to engage with our expedition while on Lake Michigan via our interactive “SmackDab” broadcast platform. At the same time, they will be able to communicate and “Skype- in” to our land-based set to become part of the show. All of this while being able to communicate with each other in an open forum, chatting, voting and providing real-time feedback on issues. Our 24/7 social media broadcast means that some content will always be LIVE, even if it is just a crew member on watch, eager to chat with a caring viewer. NOW THIS IS FULL INTERACTIVITY!
The Great Lake Swim is a bold project, presented in a bold manner to a truly global audience.
